Arkansas Twister in Magic Springs, Arkansas
This Twister was once a Hurricane. Really. In 1992 it opened at Boardwalk and Baseball in Haines City, Florida. The park, originally called Circus World, struggled financially. The baseball makeover -- and even serving as the spring training home for the Kansas City Royals -- didn't seem to work. The park closed in 1995 and the coaster, as well as the park, sat dormant for years. In 2000, Magic Springs bought the coaster for a mere $10,000. It then spent another $900,000 to transport it and reassemble it in Arkansas. As far as coasters go, this is a pretty classic out and back design. There's a neat head chopping effect towards the end.
